Kathryn Pickens West, 64, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on September 23, 2020, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, after a courageous battle with cancer. Kathy is preceded in death by her father, T. W. “Bill” Pickens, and her mother, Annette David. Kathy is survived by her husband, Dr. Mark D. West; mother-in-law, Peggy West; sister, Marianne Pickens; children, Eric Willis and wife Rebekah, Elizabeth Vasiloff and husband Eric, Mark West, Jr.; her cherished grandchildren, Luke and Lydia Willis, and Isla Vasiloff. She also leaves behind many beloved family and friends, including her “Cuzzies” and PACU Girls.

Kathy was born on November 13, 1955, at Highland Hospital in Shreveport, LA. She graduated from Captain Shreve High School and soon after was employed at Chuck Snyder’s Pharmacy. It was after this that she decided to attend Northwestern State University, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse and then worked many years at Doctors’ Hospital of Shreveport in the PACU. During and after her career in nursing, she enjoyed frequent travel with her husband, Mark, and her family and friends.

Kathy’s giving spirit and bright personality was immediately evident to all who met her. Kathy never met a stranger, and she loved and accepted people for who they were, regardless of circumstance. That love met its match in her husband, Mark. Together, they were a living testament of what it means to be in love in marriage and a great example to their children.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 30th, from 11 am – 1 pm at Rose-neath Funeral home located at 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana, followed by graveside service at Forest Park Cemetery located at 3700 St. Vincent Ave, Shreveport, Louisiana. A reception at The Missing Link will immediately follow located at 504 Texas Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Tommy Patton, senior pastor from Cypress Baptist Church of Benton, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Kathy West’s name.
